About Us

The National Gallery of Zimbabwe is seeking to showcase the work of a wide cross section of artists as a countdown to the 2010 World Cup. We are creating a link to our site that presents the work of local craftspeople, designers, painters and sculptors in their splendid diversity.

The artists represent local art practice in its entirety and include works that range from tourist curio to beautiful functional items as well as fine art works. Through a process of documentation and exposure the Gallery assists the local artists, designers and craftspeople to establish and expose their own copyright, a move that will provide them with some security in the future.

Zimbabwe is well known for its creative talent and the National Gallery promotes many creators of hand crafts and art images that occupy a particular place in the community and all deserve the right to be seen and to engage their perspective audiences and markets. The forthcoming soccer event will bring audiences from far and wide and encounter tastes that are equally diverse. In an attempt to re-engage the international community, the National Gallery of Zimbabwe is taking this opportunity to provide a window so that interested parties can see begin to get exited.
